Peppercorn A1 4-6-2 No 60123 H.A. Ivatt with an up express at Beeston Junction having left Leeds Central and just passed through Beeston station in the mid-1950s. The houses on the left are on Dewsbury Road. The freight only lines to the right opened in 1899 once allowed some 4 miles of cross-city access to the huge Hunslet Goods Yard. This route closed in 1967.
