Purposefully heading southbound away from Retford in Nottinghamshire is BR Peppercorn 'A1' 4-6-2 No. 60130 'Kestrel'.
This photograph taken on a damp July day in 1954, offers an excellent illustration of the immaculate condition in which the track and ballast was maintained. 60130 was built at Darlington in Sept. 1948 and was withdrawn in Oct. 1965.
