A busy scene in August 1965 at the north end of Newcastle Central Station sees a diesel shunter on station pilot duty, a very down at heel 'Foxhunter' with an express and a DMU under the canopies on the far right. One of the many 'spotters' gathered is checking he has wound on his film from his last shot, thus avoiding a pitfall into which I fell on more than one occasion!

BR Peppercorn 'A1' 4-6-2 No. 60134 was built at Darlington in Nov. 1948 and was withdrawn in Oct. 1965.
