27002 1956-05-12 Dunford Bridge

Pictured before receiving her experimental marine style circular window cleaning modifications the third of the seven class EM2 's heads the Ian Allan Pullman Special at Dunford Bridge on the 12th May 1956. Upon ending their service on the Woodhead route in October of 1968 all seven of the class were sold to the Netherlands State Railway network , reviving memories of the pioneer EM1 which had worked in post war Holland from September of 1947 to March of 1952. Whilst 27005 was used for spares the remaining six locomotives served their new Dutch owners well until being withdrawn for a second time in 1986, this time from Holland, when the former pioneer of the class, formerly 27000 together with sister locomotive 27001 were thereafter returned to Britain for preservation whilst the former 27003 remains preserved in Holland.
