In its last few months of service (wdn 12/1931) GWR County class 4-4-0 No 3827 County of Gloucester approaches West Drayton & Yiewsley with a down train of milk empties in June 1931. Note the 'Cordon' No3 built on a Dean chassis with outside brake pull rods and an unusual curved brake lever in the siding.
Peter Kerslake says "These were the days when milk from the south west and Wales for London was transported in churns inside the GWR's specialist Siphon vans; the days of the large glass lined milk tank wagons yet to come."
