A late record of one of the quot; Blue Pullmans quot; here at Swindon in 1969 , and from the length of the train it is clear that this is one of the original Western Region sets with its eight mixed First and Second Class composition .br/ Those units supplied to the Midland Region had been six car sets , of all First Class seating , many of which found themselvs running on the Western Region in their late years , and multiple unit use of the quot; Blue Pullmans quot; was frequently the order of the day on the Western Region , the units having by then been fitted with the necessary, albeit ugly , jumper connections on the driving cars for this purpose
