One of the original three locomotives built for the railway to replace the use of horses. (The other two were ‘Premier’ and ‘Excelsior’.) They were a stock item built by Kerr Stuart known as the Brazil Class due to there being sales of this design to Brazil. ‘Leader’ was originally No 2. (KS 926/1905) Use commenced 1908.
