A long string of northbound empty wagons departs from Stockton yard on 4th June 1961. This was unusual, it being a Sunday, when the yard would normally be closed. In charge of the class H train is B16/3 No 61453, which is carrying a chimney devoid of capuchon. The filthy condition of the 4-6-0 is made up for by the clean smokebox door fittings. The building in the distance is the municipal gas works.
