I have always loved this fine 1950s portrait of 61445 quietly resting at the smart and tidy Scarborough Station. The elegant lines of these North Eastern Railway Vincent Raven designed 4-6-0s look 'right' and it's said that if it looks right it probably is! I would be most interested to know why several ex-North Eastern Railway stations have the star of David cast into the attractive roof support columns? 61445 was built at Darlington as one of an LNER batch in May 1923 and was withdrawn in July 1961.
