69506 1950s Hadley Wood South Tunnel
The 56 ex-Great Northern Railway Ivatt 'N1' Condensing Tanks served London suburban lines radiating from King's Cross. Many were gradually transferred to GNR routes in West Yorkshire The condensers had been fitted for the tunnels encountered on the cross London lines but were removed on the West Riding contingent where they handled local passenger duties on the steeply graded former GNR routes. This 1950s view shows condenser-fitted 69506 on an up 'local' at Hadley South Tunnel .
