Robert Waterman says "The headcode shows this as a Waterloo - Portsmouth & Southsea service not running as a portion of an Alton service (headcode 7). This suggests a summer Saturday working when these services ran separately from Waterloo for much on the day although they were often strengthened with a 4SUB. "
