Ex-LNER Gresley 'K3' class 2-6-0 No. 61987. Built at Darlington in January 1937 as LNER No. 3827 and withdrawn in March 1962.

There is much to see in this April 1956 view at Morningside Road Station in Edinburgh (closed in September 1962). There are no less than 23 railwaymen in view, most are involved in track re-laying and not a hi-viz jacket in sight! J36 0-6-0 No. 65224 'Mons' and an unidentified D29 4-4-0 are assisting in the yard, whilst 61987 passes by light engine. All this activity was captured by renowned Scottish photographer George Staddon.
