1164 1937-10-04 Peascliffe

K3 No 1164 has just left Peascliffe tunnel with an up slow on 4th October 1937.

John Clayson says "An interesting photograph. The semaphore signals were operated from Peascliffe box, but it was very soon to be abolished, in fact just 13 days later than the date of this picture, on 17th October. Their replacement automatic colour light signals can both be seen; on the down line beyond the semaphore, and in the up direction the signal head projects above the front of the leading coach".
