61919 1950s Guide Bridge

61919 1950s Guide Bridge

The bulky Gresley 'K3' 2-6-0s always looked impressive machines. Seen in the early 1950s before the 1500v electrification was completed, Gorton allocated 61919 rumbles through Guide Bridge Station with a lengthy freight. One catenary support is already in place however. 61919 was built by Armstrong Whitworth in July 1934 as LNER No. 1302 and would be withdrawn in June 1961.
