Rebuilt Royal Scot No.46101 Royal Scots Grey on an Up express with an unusual suffix to the train reporting number, London in vertical lettering. It was one of a handful of Scots which were given self-cleaning smokeboxes, hence the SC plate below the shedplate. These were not successful because they had an adverse effect on the steaming, and it appears that only a handful of the rebuilt engines were modified. No.46101 was converted to taper boiler in November 1945 and was fitted with smoke deflectors in August 1949.
