45560 1960s Warrington
Crewe North ‘Jubilee’ No. 45560 Prince Edward Island pictured in the summer of 1962, or more likely 1963, with a fish train from Fleetwood heading south from the station. To the middle left the ‘duck under’ line pictured on the next page can be seen. Note the fine array of signals protecting the approaches to Warrington Bank Quay station. No. 45560 was withdrawn at the end of November 1963. The two bracket signals have gone from the Down lines, no doubt made redundant by colour lights situated elsewhere. As in the other photograph, Arpley Sidings is on the right of the train. The resident diesel shunter is visible in the other shot, and here on the extreme right, a ‘Jinty’ is taking water.
