The many variants of the ex-L&NWR 'Super D' 0-8-0s continued to ply ex-LMS routes (and more) into the 1960s. Here's a 1951 view of 'G2A' No. 49228 on the WCML at Hartford in Cheshire. It is heading an up freight and is passing under the bridge carrying the CLC Chester to Northwich lines.
