‘G2’ 0-8-0 No.49328 was at Bescot for many years and was eventually withdrawn from there in late 1962. This rear view is interesting because it shows an unusual fitting at the front of the Bowen-Cooke tender, a three-piece steel angle which was probably intended to prevent the footplate crew from going near to live overhead wires. The device is also on the Fowler tender of the ‘4F’ in front of the ‘G2’.
