A ‘G2’ 0-8-0 chugs through Foleshill in 1959 on a freight from the Nuneaton direction as a lady and her children wait for the next local to Coventry. Foleshill is a suburb about three miles north east of the City Centre, and the station and the adjacent ones at Coundon Road and Daimler Halt were used extensively in the mornings and evenings by factory workers up until the late 1950s, and long corrugated waiting shelters were provided on both platforms for them. The footbridge which frames the train was built in 1931 from London & North Western Railway parts.
