A wonderful sight!

Peter Kerslake says "Nicely turned out with matching maroon coaching stock D1019 "Western Challenger" looks her best in her maroon livery especially whe it's been cleaned even though getting up above roof line level was clearly not something the cleaning gangs favoured.
This is Wellington in Somerset, not the one in Shropshire as Reporting Number "1C75" is an afternoon working from Paddington down to Plymouth and possibly beyond but D1019 was a very early casualty and was withdrawn in early May of 1973 and had the sad distinction, together with D 1032 "Western Marksman" of being the first two of the class of seventy four to be withdrawn."
