Hunslet 1191 1962-05-12 Groby
Groby Quarries' four coupled loco No.2 LM10 (Hunslet 1191 of 1915) takes the RCTS party on a tour of the Groby quarry system. Note the cut down cab necessary for all locomotives working on the Groby system because the bridge under the A50 in the middle of Groby village had very restricted clearances. No.2 would be withdrawn from service and scrapped by March 1963 leaving the line diesel worked by J Fowler No.4220016 of 1962. The system itself continued in use until 1966 when BR closed the West Bridge branch, and the tracks were lifted by 1967.
