The much more successful BR Standard 2MT 2-6-2T which was essentially the Ivatt LM&SR design, No. 84016 on the same day. No. 84016 had been at Fleetwood for most of the previous eight years and would remain there until late 1965. Together with classmate No. 84010 it was used on the Fleetwood to Blackpool North via Poulton Curve push and pull service.
