Amazing that it still has the backing plate from the name carried briefly in 1933. It has survived the war retaining crimson lake livery but has had an additional rainstrip added at the cabside/roof edge since pre war. Probably remained in this condition until rebuilt with taper boiler in July 1947 receiving LMS lined black livery at that time. Given the name 'Stephenson' and renumbered to 45529 at works visit 8 July-7Aug 48. Probably retained LMS style lined black at this time but the following year repainted in BR lined black
