Still gleaming after returning from a Heavy General overhaul at Crewe completed on 27th June, Ivatt 2MT 2-6-0 No.46404 is back at its home shed on 9th July 1961. It was allocated to Kettering in January 1947, a few weeks after it was built, and remained there until transferred to Nottingham in March 1963. Crewe Works did not bother with the rather bent bars protecting the rear tender cab window.
