42924 1960s Stockport Edgeley

42924 1960s Stockport Edgeley

42924 at Stockport Edgeley, probably soon after its last General repair completed at Horwich in July 1962, looking at the condition of its paintwork. The snap head riveted unbeaded tender built with a Stanier 2-6-0 ran with 42924 from November 1955 until November 1965. The AWS had been fitted in October 1959; the battery box and the larger vacuum reservoir show up clearly in this view. 42924 was transferred from Stoke to Edge Hill in November 1962, moving to Birkenhead in December 1964 and was withdrawn in February 1966.
