In plain black still with LMS on the coal railed tender, 42892 at Willesden on 20 June 1954. It had been renumbered in May 1948 with 8in Gill Sans numbers and has a simple 5 power class high up immediately below the cab windows. 42892 was shedded at Speke Junction from the end of 1950 until January 1960.
