No.42827 was a long-standing resident at Saltley, based there from April 1947 until June 1964. This rear view taken on the same date shows that it had one of the later snap-head riveted Fowler 3,500 gallon tenders which were built with additional coal rails. Note the pile of fire-irons on the Midland Railway stand to the right of the tender - that’s where they all went!
