LMS Crab 2-6-0 No 42784 in the 1950s at Meadow Lane, view from Signal Box looking east towards Trent Lane on the Midland line to Lincoln just past Nottingham station. The Crab is approaching Sneinton Junction and is signalled to take the freight lines round the back of Nottingham Carriage sidings.

On the other line the ECS for a passenger train has been drawn forward out of London Road station with Black Five 44855 at the rear, it has half its front numberplate missing. It will reverse direction using the crossover to head south probably into the carriage sidings hauled by 44855.
