42828 1950s Stockport

Seen in the 1950s before the electrification catenary ruined this view in 1959/1960, Ex-LMS Hughes/Fowler 'Crab' 2-6-0 No. 42828 pilots an unidentified 'Black 5' 4-6-0 across the Mersey viaduct into Stockport Station. The station pilot on the left is a Stanier '4P' 2-6-4 Tank No. 42551, built by NBL of Glasgow in July 1936 as LMS No. 2551 and was withdrawn in Dec. 1964. 42828 was built at Horwich in Nov. 1929 as LMS No. 13128 and was withdrawn in Oct. 1965.
