A fine portrait of a Hughes ’Crab’ 2-6-0 at Lostock Hall in the early 1960s. No 42898 was one of a class of 245 engines which worked extensively in England and Scotland but were rarely given the credit they deserved for reliability and usefulness. Built 1930; w/d September 1965.
