Opened on 9 Sep 1894, closed on 31 Aug 1969. Danger signals here were passsed causing the Ais Gill accident of 1913. The signal box at Mallerstang was quite a walk from the the nearest road, it alwasys looked drab due to being partially re-clad on the end and below the windows. I think this was asbestos sheet cladding..
