MR 2029 1910s where - is it Kentish Town yard?
Midland Railway Deeley '2000' or 'Flatiron' class 0-6-4 Tank No. 2029. Built at Derby in October 1907 and withdrawn in January 1937 as LMS No. 2029.
The 40 'Flatiron' 0-6-4 Tanks were a Richard Deeley design. Their stability and acceleration were poor and following several derailments, they were relegated from passenger to freight work. They were all rebuilt with Belpaire fireboxes and superheaters between 1920 and 1926 and the class were withdrawn by 1928. Note the rear bogie brakes (later removed).
This came as St Albans shed but we are sure it is not, it could be at Kentish Town in the yard. Later in life it was allocated to Saltley.
