A much frequented location. (Photographers had a tendency to ‘overdo’ their favourite spots) -but it was just 2 minutes walk from my house, so that was to be expected. No 63451 heads towards Norton Station past Norton East signalbox with another load of coal from the west Durham pits in June 1963. What a difference it makes having a freshly painted front numberplate!
