Ex-North Eastern Railway Raven 'Q6' class 0-8-0 No. 63440. Built by Armstrong Whitworth of Newcastlein June 1920 as NER No. 2283 and withdrawn in December 1966.
Killingbeck on the eastern ouskirts of Leeds, seems to have evaded the attention of photogaphers. This in spite of the large ex-NER MPD at Neville Hill being just a mile towards the city (behind the loco in this March 1955 view). Many 'Q6s' saw out their final days working from Neville Hill and (latterly) Normanton MPDs serving the many local collieries in West Yorkshire.
