A pair of NER Q6 0-8-0s Nos 63357 and 63383 (leading) just west of Consett station with Carr House West signal box in the background.
The 2 locos are setting back with a load of coal into the steel works reception sidings in the 1950s. Given the fact that the coal train had two Q6’s it is has most likely arrived from the Derwent Valley branch, passing through Blackhill station, they always had a banker. The banker has gone onto front of train and the pair are propelling the load back into ‘Consett Iron Company’ reception sidings.
