51C West Hartlepool allocated NER Q6 0-8-0 No 63440 with brake van approaching Stockton on Tees on 15 May 1965. Note that the LNER signal is about to be replaced by a tubular post variety (the new arm has an X over it).
The signal box on the right is
Hartburn. The line curving away to the left heads towards Bowesfield Junction, Thornaby and Middlesbrough. The main line past the box heads for Yarm and just out of sight beyond the box, the Castle Eden line crosses on an overbridge.
