On a Crewe-Wellington train made up of a 4 car rake of WR coaches.I don't know why there are so many people on the line, they are ignoring the train and mostly women so not enthusiasts. We can only surmise that as the train has passed the pulled-off up advance starting signal that there had been an 'on-line incident' necessitating a delay. Possibly a passenger has had need to pull the communication cord. The signalman would have placed his down distant at caution and protecting outer home signal at danger enabling the passengers to cross over the down line under the supervision of the guard to the safety of the down platform.
