45531 1951-05-15 Stafford

Rebuilt Patriot No 45531 Sir Frederick Harrison passes Stafford with an up express on 15th May 1951.

An interesting view of 5531 after rebuilding with a taper boiler and showing it in the early experimental BR livery of Apple Green with LNWR style lining which was applied in May 1948 Note the 10'' insignia . It is a month or so away from a HG repair whence it would emerge with smoke deflectors and BR standard green livery. The train is still in LMS livery.
