45522 1951 Liverpool Lime Street

45522 1951 Liverpool Lime Street

Rebuilt Patriot 4-6-0 No 45522 Prestatyn enters Liverpool Lime Street with an express from Euston ?(Camden loco but ER stock so could be Hull) on Whit Monday 1951.

Peter Kerslake adds "Liverpool Lime Street was not the easiest station for the railway photographer to exercise his skills, its dark and smoke filled depths making rewarding efforts difficult to achieve, but our cameraman here has done a fine job in recording this scene for posterity. The massive smoke blackened walls and tunnel mouth all add to this fine study, with 45522, in a well turned out state of cleanliness caught in the sunlight, the picture being further enhanced by the group of enthusiasts on the platform end including the young lad in his regulation school raincoat "
