Patriot No 45506 The Royal Pioneer Corps pauses at Kettering on 31st August. Test runs were made in Autumn 1955 between St. Pancras and Nottingham Midland “to see what passenger engines would do under normal working conditions, using poor quality coal”. Jubilee 45636, Class 5 44918 and Patriot 45506 The Royal Pioneer Corps were used. The latter pauses at Kettering on 31st August during one of its six test runs; one of the doors of the Dynamometer Car at the front is open.
