5525 1938 Euston

Bushbury’s 5525 arriving at Euston with an FA Cup special in 1938. In February 1937, with a load 100 tons over the normal for the train, it covered the 82.6 miles from Rugby to Euston in 78 mins. 50 sec. on what was then the fastest XL schedule on the LMS, the 6.58pm departure from Rugby to Watford, the 5.42pm Wolverhampton to Euston. 5525 had the name E. Tootal Broadhurst from February 1933 until June 1937 when it transferred to 5534; 5525 was named Colwyn Bay a year later.
