D2381 1973 Market Overton
This came dated as 1972 but 1973 is more likely as BR didn't withdraw D2381 until June 1972.
Close examination shows "Market Overton" on the bufferbeam and the non standard lined livery the loco received. Photographs exist of D2381 during 1973 on the High Dyke branch in this condition. This was the very first preserved 03, in the embronic days of preservation. This little known location was home to Flying scotsman around the same time period. As time moved on the Drewry, became a resident of Steamtown, Carnforth, where it can still (2020) be found. It has seen no use in the past few years as it became very rundown, and was part dismantled sometime ago.
