BR 08 0-6-0 No D3xxx newly transferred from York and still carries its 50A shed plate by Healey Mills Signal Box in c1963. The view here of the 08 shunter is taken from Low Mill Road, Healey, Ossett looking up at the down hump in Healey Mills Marshalling Yard. The combined hump control and signalbox is on the left with the hump controller nicely silhouetted in the yard control side of the box. The design of the box was mirrored for the signalling side. The yard suffered a long and lingering death being closed in stages from 1985 to 1998. The site was abandoned, derelict and overgrown until its current redevelopment. In 2025 new sidings are now being built on the eastern yard to serve a distribution hub for the Transpennine Route Upgrade (TRU).
