LMS designed Ivatt '2MT' class 2-6-2 Tank No. 41212. Built at Crewe in September 1948 and withdrawn in November 1963.
George Ivatt must have been flattered when Robert Riddles introduced his 'Standard 2' 2-6-2 Tanks (84000-84029) because with only the most modest of modifications they were virtually identical, merely adding another 30 to the 130 Ivatt versions already built. Here in the goods yard at Bangor, push-pull fitted 41212 goes about its daily routines in April 1954.
