After leaving Neasden in June 1961, 41270 went to the Southern Region at Exmouth Junction. This picture at Yeoford, between Exeter and Coleford Junction, must have been taken soon after that because 41270 still has its VCR equipment. This was subsequently removed at Eastleigh, probably in December 1961 when it was there for a Light Intermediate overhaul during which it acquired AWS.
