41260 1964 Corfe Castle

41260 1964 Corfe Castle

The Swanage branch had been worked by L&SWR M7 0-4-4Ts with push-pull sets since Southern Railway days and these lasted until May 1964. In summer 1964, the Monday to Friday passenger services on the branch were covered by Bournemouth 417, 418 and 419 Turns, diagrammed for Ivatt 2-6-2Ts. 41260, here waiting to depart from Corfe Castle towards Wareham, was one of those transferred to Bournemouth for the branch service, but it lasted only until October 1964 when it was withdrawn.
