41242 is framed by the distinctive train shed at Bath Green Park as it waits with a local to Bristol in 1951. It was always at former S&D sheds, Bath Green Park from September 1949 until May 1962, then Templecombe until withdrawal in 1965.

Peter Kerslake says "The classic "Georgian" tyle of Bath's Green Park station included the overall glazed roof seen to advantage in this sunlit scene fom 1951, with the longer patform on the right, capable of accommodating an engine and nine coaches whilst the shorter platform , used by 41242 in this view could take just one coach less.
Many of the additional long distance Saturday Summer Workings running into the Green Park terminus were loaded to eleven or more coaches, however, with the last coaches stretching out way past the platform ends and requiring passengers to make their way down through their train to reach the leading coaches in order to alight here at Bath before their train was worked out to continue its journey after reversing here.
The fully glazed overall roof suffered badly during war time air raids on Bath and many of the damaged glass panels were never replaced with the splendid structure living on today as a Supermarket car park, a sad reflection of its former Glory Days as the principat station on the Somerset and Dorset network."
