The Severn Valley line was to see the Ivatt 2-6-2Ts in its final years when six of them arrived at Shrewsbury in 1962/3 to replace GWR 41xx Prairies on the route. 41207 after arrival at Shrewsbury on a wet day in 1963, worked the 5.30pm Shrewsbury-Bridgnorth on the last day of the Severn Valley passenger services, 9 September 1963.
