Richard Hawkins says "I remember well watching the shunting at Windsor Road sidings, my grandfather was a steam engine driver at 23C later on electrics to Liverpool and Crossens.
I spent hours train spotting at the cattle pens, my father was also a signalman in the area on relief work. Happy days back in the 1950s. He also remembers the shire horses pulling the delivery carts when
Southport central station was used as the goods station. It was on the corner of Derby Road and Kensington Road, Southport".
