41298 1962-11-11 Barnstaple Junction

Ivatt 2-6-2T No.41298 in Platform 2 with a Torrington train on 11th November 1962. Built at Crewe in October 1951 for the Southern Region, it moved from its first shed at Bricklayers Arms to Barnstaple Junction in 1953. No.41298 left ten years later, moving to Weymouth and then, in October 1966, to Nine Elms. In 1967 No.41298 was purchased directly from British Railways by the Ivatt Locomotive Trust, going to the Longmoor Military. After this closed it moved to Quainton Road in December 1970 and a heavy overhaul commenced. In 2008, No.41298 was subsequently relocated to the Isle of Wight arriving at Havenstreet on 28th November.
